- Authors
Obeid, Nassim
- Abstract
The article offers an etymological analysis for some words of body parts in Semitic languages, particularly in Arabic and Hebrew. One of the reasons for selecting such words for analysis is the possibility of being the oldest words that humans use in everyday life, and perhaps the nearest ancestor to proto Semitic language. The words that have chosen include head, eyes and foot. The study, that is aimed at determining the original of the meaning and form of selected proto Semitic words, made use of comparative linguistics as a starting point.
