- Title
G7 Versus BRICS: Power Struggles are Not Class Struggles.
- Authors
Wolff, Richard D.
- Abstract
The article discusses the distinction between power struggles and class struggles throughout history. It highlights examples such as the conflicts between city-states Athens and Sparta, as well as the power struggles between Britain and France during the feudal era. The author argues that power struggles exist between the G7 and BRICS nations, as well as within individual nations, while class struggles exist between employers and employees in all nations. The rise of China and the BRICS is seen as challenging the power of the United States and the G7, but it is not framed as a socialist movement challenging capitalism. The article emphasizes the importance of understanding and differentiating between power struggles and class struggles in order to effectively address social and economic issues.
