- Authors
Williams, Alyson E.
- Abstract
The article provides practical ideas which can be used by early childhood educators in creating classroom activities for toddlers and infants that will encourage environmental awareness. It states the effectiveness of planning an outdoor activity that will allow young children to explore the natural world, and the significance of showing a curiosity behavior to these children to encourage them to discover the world around them. It also stresses that by providing these young children with early experiences with nature, teachers are able to support the development of scientific and aesthetic thinking of these young students as well as inspire them to choose a profession even at an early age.
