- Authors
Day, Darcy
- Abstract
The article provides an organized framework for safe intrahospital transport of critical care patients. It states that the standard for intrahospital transport is to render the same level of care that is available in the intensive care units (ICUs) because there is a greater chance of problems to occur during transport . It notes the safety considerations to expect before transport including specific patient considerations, potential handoffs, equipment, timing route and destination.
