- Title
Arena Football League.
- Abstract
This article focuses on the implementation of unique ownership structure. Due to the implementation of a unique ownership structure, the values of individual teams in the Arena Football League (AFL) have increased ten-fold. The uniqueness in the ownership structure of the AFL is summarized. First, the league owns all players' contracts, and individual team owners do not have to pay player salaries. This practice can help the league avoid the chaotic situations experienced by other professional sports leagues such as strikes and accusation of violation of the antitrust laws. Second, the league is set up as a nonprofit organization.
