The article focuses on British poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning and her use of genre and gender within the poem "Aurora Leigh." The author explores Barrett Browning's appreciation of Classic poets Virgil and Homer, examines her use of georgic modernity, and analyzes the roles of the characters Aurora and Romney within the poem.
