A literary criticism of the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream," by William Shakespeare is presented. It examines the anti-Black violence and quotes considered as hate speech in the play, the antiphrasis described by author George Puttenham that aligns with Shakespeare's play, and a history of the tradition of antiphrasis in literature.
