- Abstract
The article presents a summary of the study "Exercise motivation, eating, and body image variables as predictors of weight control," by P. J. Teixeira, S. B. Going, and colleagues, published in the "Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise" journal. The study examined the psychosocial variables connected to exercise, body image, and eating in middle-aged overweight and obese women during and after their involvement in a weight reduction program. The article discusses the changes in eating restraint, self-efficacy, exercise behavior, intrinsic motivation, and self-esteem.
