- Title
"Vestments of civil life" in Caine Mutiny and Attack.
- Abstract
This article discusses the World War II motion pictures "Caine Mutiny," directed by Edward Dmytryk and starring Humphrey Bogart, Jose Ferrer, and Van Johnson, and "Attack," directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Eddie Albert, Robert Strauss, and Jack Palance. The article compares the films and explains how they both deal with obedience to authority and the competency of military leaders during the war. The article suggests that both "Caine Mutiny" and "Attack" demonstrate a lack of Cold War consensus.
