- Abstract
The article presents a study on the reaction of carbon-carbon bond when tungsten, a heavy grey-white metallic element which is used mainly in electrical applications is applied. It notes that the C-C bond could not be easily broken, but a study proves a remarkable twist of the idea. A. Sattler and G. Parkin used tungsten complex analogous and quinoxaline to mix with molybdenum complex to find out whether the C-C bond could be broken. Result reveals that tungsten atom was inserted into the C-C bond located between the two nitrogen atoms in quinoxaline and breaks the C-C bond. It also mentions that the carbon-hydrogen (C-H) addition at a relatively inert C-H bond will lead to the cleavage of an even more unreactive C-C bond.
