- Title
Immunology: Holistic medicine.
- Abstract
The article highlights a research, conducted by a team led by Anke Huckriede at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, that examined the role of viral single-stranded ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecules in enhancing the efficiency of H5N1 influenza vaccine. The team showed that for this type of vaccine, its enhanced efficacy is due to the action of viral single-stranded RNA molecules since they stimulate the innate immune response which responds quickly long-term immunity. Methodology-wise, the researchers looked at Toll-like receptors (TLR) in mice specimen.
