- Title
ONE CHINA, FREELY AND FAIRLY ELECTED: A NEW SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE OF TAIWAN.
- Authors
Wen, Jean C.
- Abstract
The article discusses the reunification of Taiwan and the People's Republic of China (PRC). According to the article, Taiwan having met criteria set by the Montevideo Convention law of statehood and has foreign relations with other states is not governed by the PRC. In 1996, the PRC threatened to use military force against Taiwan which clearly violates international law and Taiwan's human rights. It is concluded that the international community must not tolerate moves against Taiwan's democracy.
