- Abstract
The article presents an investigation of the association between life-time cadmium intake and health effects using the same manner of study performed in the cadmium-polluted Kakehashi River basin. Namely the target population was classified according to the average cadmium concentration in their hamlet rice and their length of residence in the cadmium-polluted area, and the tolerable level of life-time cadmium intake was calculated. In the study, the prevalences of proteinuria, glucosuria and proteinuria + glucosuria were used as the health effects indices.
