- Abstract
The article presents poetic criticism of several passages from the Roman poet Ovid's work "Metamorphoses." Notes include commentary on Ovid's intertextual references and influences from Herodotus, Lucretius, and Virgil. Additional analysis is given discussing his depiction of the Greek figure Hercules, the spread of an Athenian plague, and Jupiter's meeting with Europa.
