- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the effect of viral infection on plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs)-mediated productionof type I interferons (IFNs). Two isolates of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) were infected to mice, to determine LCMV affect pDCs' numbers and function. It shows that mice became more susceptible to secondary infections because of the persistent isolate of LCMV that suppressed the type I IFN secretion.
