- Abstract
The article presents a study of parasites of harbor seals in Glacier Bay and Prince William Sound, Alaska. In the study, researchers collected fecal samples from harbor seals between 2004 and 2006 in the regions. The study discovered that 86% of 87 feces that contained adult parasites were whaleworms. It concluded that there was a need of comparing factors including seal diets, parasitic infection levels, and survival to examine the effects of infectious agents on seal population.
