- Abstract
In this paper, a mathematical simulation for the simplest version of the Zeeman Effect of a magnetic field is presented. In this simulation, a matrix treatment of an inverse problem is adopted. The problem that we will address focuses on determining a matrix from a set of numbers, which, by imposition, will be the eigenvalues of this matrix. Starting from a matrix that presents maximum degeneracy of its eigenvalues, three simulations are considered: one preserving the initial degeneracy, one partially breaking this degeneration, and the other totally breaking the initial degeneracy. Physical considerations that could correspond to these simulations are presented.
