- Abstract
The mental health problems of contemporary college students become increasingly serious, which pose a threat to the healthy development of the whole society. The study utilizes a variety of statistical analysis methods to investigate the influence of dormitory space environment on college students' mental health. Through the study of 381 students from a university in central China, it finds that 4 social stress factors and 29 dormitory space environment factors have an impact on mental health, and 9 factors such as dormitory interior decoration significantly increase the risk of depression. Then, using the Random Forest algorithm to rank the importance of these factors, it finds that among the space environment factors in dormitories, circadian lighting rhythm and sleep support have the greatest impact on mental health, and their influence are the same as that of interpersonal relationship stress among the social factors. Finally, multiple linear regression model is used to construct the mathematical diagnosis model of dormitory space environment-SDS score, test the target dormitory space environment and put forward the reform method.
