- Authors
Kachnic, Lisa; Berk, Lawrence
- Abstract
Points out that three very large randomized trials have all demonstrated that single-fraction radiation therapy is sufficient to achieve palliation of painful bone metastases. Dutch Bone Metastases Study with 1171 patients; Bone Pain Trial Working Party Study with 765 patients; Radiation Therapy Oncology Group trial with 898 patients; Remains to be seen whether this approach will become standard of care in the United States.
