- Title
OFFICIAL LIABILITY AND ITS LESS LEGALISTIC ALTERNATIVES.
- Authors
OLSON, MANCUR
- Abstract
The author discusses a general approach to the immunity of a government official from civil liability that takes into consideration the function of the administrative agency, the jurisdiction of the dispute and the statutes used by the court. He explains the distinction of the negligence of the official from that of the government which sanctions irresponsible acts when done in the line of duty. He states that the immunity allows for transactions to be made to compensate for damages inflicted by the official.
