- Authors
FRIEDMANN, W.
- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of legal status and organization of public corporation in Great Britain. There are three types of public corporations including commercial corporation, social service corporation and supervisory public corporation. As mentioned, it appears that in Britain and the British Dominions, the public corporation is regarded as the best way in which to combine the principles of public service and ownership with those of managerial responsibility and financial accountability. In Britain, the public corporation is distinguished by its functional character from other public authorities. The legal form of the public corporation has been adopted by the constitutions of many functional international agencies created in conjunction with the United Nations Organization.
