- Title
THE BENEFIT PROVISIONS OF STATE UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE LAWS.
- Authors
HUNTINGTON, EMILY H.
- Abstract
The article focuses on those aspects of the state unemployment insurance laws of the U.S., that deal with benefit provisions. It is stated that an employee should be an insured 'worker' in an insured 'employment,' employed by an 'employer' within the framework of the act, so as to receive unemployment insurance benefits. Also mentioned is that in order to set up eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits, there is considerable variation in the laws, regarding the required number of weeks of employment. It is concluded that differences in provisions imply that equal protection is not afforded for all employees in several jurisdictions.
