- Abstract
Isparta Terrestrial Neogene Survey Project has been established with the permission of General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism in order to reach new hominoid and mammalian fossils and their beds/localities in Neogene period sediments within Isparta province. Three new fossil beds were identified in the field studies of the project in 2017 and 2018 seasons, one near Dedeçam village (Pamuklu) and two near Kuyucak village (İldere and Belez Güneyi). Numerous well-preserved vertebrate fossils have been recovered from these fossil deposits. However, the current conditions of the fossil bed in Tokmacık village in the literature have been reviewed and new fossils have been reached on the surface. As a result of the determination of fossils, 17 genera were identified. Faunal analyzes showed the age of all four localities as Late Miocene, MN 11 mammalian zone. Among the findings, Zygolophodon is a mammutid which was first described in Anatolian Late Miocene sediments.
