- Abstract
Wars direct the social and political change of states and nations. They either bring nations to the edge of the abyss or drag them into new lifestyles with social changes. In this respect, Çanakkale is one of the wars that closely concerns the fate of many nations in world history. It has had a direct or indirect effect on the change of state borders, especially in Europe, Asia and Africa. It is also the beginning of a new formation and change for Muslim communities that will last for centuries. The fact that the war took place close to Istanbul, an important geopolitical region and the capital of the Ottoman Empire, increase its importance even more. The impact of the Çanakkale War on the social and political plane and what happened at the front are reflected in the diaries, memoirs and letters written by the officers, privates and health professionals who were personally involved in the struggle. In addition, the impressions of what happened at the front in the perspectives of the journalists or poets/writers who went to the battlefield show that plans for the liberation of the homeland had begun. These writings, which are considered as literary memories, testify to the events of the war. In our study, how the battle was handled and the extent of the war reflected in literary memoirs written during the war were investigated.
