- Title
Identifying Risk for Suicide.
- Authors
Doherty, Tracie; DeVylder, Jordan
- Abstract
The article discusses findings of a literature review on suicide which suggest that primary care settings can serve as points of intervention for those contemplating suicide. It notes a dearth of knowledge on how to accurately predict who will commit suicide despite training in suicide risk assessment. It cites a need for clinical tools to identify those at greatest risk for suicide and points out that social workers are well poised to identify risk factors for suicidal behavior and intent.
