- Abstract
The article reports on the issue of elderly citizens with dementias that affect their driving skills. The Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and neuropsychological testing assessments work towards forecasting drivers at risk. The major domains of MMSE are the subject's memory and orientation. Mild, moderate and severe dementia practice guidelines are presented. Social workers are in a critical position to assist families with aging family members and the safety, social, psychological, physical, legal and emotional aspects of driving.
