- Abstract
The article presents the results of the research carried out in two high quality accredited institutions in Colombia. The objective was to identify the relationship between the methods of social research and the methods of legal research for the realization of works in law. In the case studies, the techniques included qualitative interviews with semi-structured questions carried out by eight magister and doctorate teachers with experience in research projects and tutorials. On the other hand, focused on documentary analysis and the bibliographic signing. The results show the need to employ more methods, methodologies and empirical techniques in the degree works of future legal professionals in Colombia. It is concluded that, although there is a good tendency to perform empirical-level work at the doctoral level, the use of such methods in undergraduate studies is still timid.
