- Abstract
An essay is presented concerning Danish American Lutheran missionary work with a group of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma. It examines the experiences and work of Danish American Lutheran missionary Niels Nielsen with Cherokees, the concept of the Inner Mission movement, and the development of Danish American Lutheran churches in the U.S. in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The article also discusses Danish American Lutheran missionary C. A. Vammen.
