- Authors
Christensen, Deborah
- Abstract
The article discusses the ethical dilemma faced by nurses and health workers in the lack of equal access to medical treatments and research for neurologically compromised patients as of 2022. Topics covered include the limited decision-making capacity (MDC) of patients with brain tumors and nervous system disorders that put them at risk for stigmatism and disparate care access, and the use of a surrogate decision-maker. Also noted are measures to enable MDC in afflicted patients.
