- Abstract
This article discusses a study that evaluates the dose-dependent response of phenylhydrazine (PHZ) and the role of melatonin compared to that of vitamin E following PHZ-induced toxicity within the spleen tissue of Funambulus pennanti during a reproductively active phase. This evaluation stems from the fact that PHZ oxidation increases the frequency of cancer by causing a free iron release that stimulates free radical generation. Different doses of the chemical resulted in lipid peroxidation, an increase in apoptosis percentage, and an increase in splenomegaly.
