- Title
When is Vitamin D Contraindicated in Dialysis Patients?
- Authors
Evenepoel, Pieter
- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of substituting vitamin D stores and maintaining a low dose of active vitamin D in all dialysis patients. It states that patients with hyperphosphatemia and suspected adynamic bone disease (ABD) must avoid pharmacological doses of active vitamin D. Moreover, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) need to validate the therapeutic approach before administration.
