- Title
Building Value By Paring Environmental Risk.
- Authors
Rogers, C. Gregory
- Abstract
This article looks at the corporate investment climate in which companies that place active concern in environmental sustainability and worker health and safety are not only valued higher than those that don't, but face less threat of financial penalties. The burdens of a company facing potential environmental liabilities are detailed from the premiums of transferring liability to a cash fund, to creating a framework in which environmental liabilities don't negatively impact return on investment. An accounting formula is offered along with a multi point strategy for managing environmental risk. INSET: Measuring Return On Investment.
