- Abstract
The article reports on the significant role of leaders in shaping and sustaining the journal "Financial Executives International" in the U.S. The organization was originally named the Controller Institute of America. It was established in 1932; Frank J. Carr was elected as its first president. The organization has undergone several changes in its structure and leadership, it has remained dedicated to serving the needs of financial executives, primarily in the private sector. Leadership, volunteerism and the organization's history are discussed.
