- Abstract
The article discusses the sequencing of the ASIP exons in 3 black and 5 wild-type animals using Sanger sequencing to identify the molecular basis of the black phenotype in impala. A fragment test flanking the c.174delA was designed with 215 black animals were homozygous, 26 wild-type animals were homozygous and 231 carrier animals were heterozygous. The fragment test described allows for detection of carriers of the mutation.
