- Abstract
An interview with Tom Jones, vice chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), is presented. When asked about the Financial Accounting Standards Board's (FASB) decision to ease up on mark-to-market rules, he responds that the changes in the financial reporting rules were subjected to a fair amount of judgment. He argues that economic development would not result from misleading investors. He points out that banks are facing difficulties because of their lending behavior.
