- Abstract
Depending on what ideas the information professionals have about a company or institution, they will publish a type of journalistic articles or others, with specific news frames. At the same time, the organizational communication of an entity has an impact on the information treatment it will receive from the media. Founded in September 1998, Google has just turned twenty years old. What do journalists of the main Spanish newspapers think about Google? How do they perceive the organizational communication of the company? The authors of this article have conducted a study based on research interviews with a selection of journalists who have published information about Google, as well as an interview with a communication manager of the company in Spain. The results of the research show that there are a number of ideas in the minds of information professionals: "Google is a threat and harms newspapers", "Google knows too much about too many people" or "Google has an excess of power and develops monopolistic practices". Most of the journalists' opinions contrast with the perspective of the communications department of the company.
