- Abstract
Blockchain technology may drastically alter the production, dissemination, and reception of digital media. A systematic review was performed to evaluate the current status of research in this field, and 102 studies published until January 2023 were included in the analysis. The bulk of studies, as determined by the review, focused on technical aspects of blockchain-based digital content systems, such as the development and implementation of blockchain platforms and the analysis of their effectiveness. Though just a few studies have looked into the ethical and financial implications of this technology. In this systematic review, we will look at how blockchain technology has the potential to change the digital content industry by opening up new channels of revenue for producers and users. However, additional study is required to properly understand the effects and difficulties of blockchain-based digital content systems. The systematic review concludes that blockchain technology has the potential to significantly alter the landscape of digital content, but that further study is needed to properly comprehend the consequences and solve any impediments. The review sheds light on the present status of research in the field and identifies gaps in knowledge that need to be filled.
