- Abstract
The article explores the depersonalization of society in a future dystopia in Stanley Kubrick's film "2001: A Space Odyssey." Topics discussed are deep-focus cinematography used to depict the influence of machines on human progress and sense of detachnment and feeling of emptiness amidst technological progress, satirical portrayal of spacecraft to indicate consumerism and space travel, and depersonalizatinon of human experience demonstrated by the apathetic disconnect of human relationships.
