- Abstract
The article presents a case study of non-infectious panniculitis during hydroxyurea (HU) therapy in an 81-year-old woman with myeloproliferative disease (MPD). She was treated with ranimustine which prevented the erythema from recurring. The article discusses HU, an S-phase specific inhibitor of de novo DNA synthesis that has been used as an anti-tumour agent and widely used for the treatment of MPD, sickle cell anaemia and leukaemia.
