- Abstract
An editorial is presented which examines how dental therapists can deal with the social and racial disparities that impact access to oral health care in America as of 2017. According to the article, vulnerable individuals and communities of color face barriers to accessing dental services in the U.S. Children enrolled in the Medicaid health insurance program are examined, along with dental cavities in children, a shortage of dentists in America, and an alternative dental care delivery model.
