- Abstract
The tree of life intervention was created originally by David Denborough, Michael White y Ncazelo Ncube-Mlilo (2006) at REPPSI, in, to do group work with children that have suffered war atrocities. The present proposal consists of doing the tree of life intervention with con families that have lost a love one. The methodology was designed to recuperate the history of the relationship of the absent family member and his family, using questions from the re-membering (re-association) Map. Creating a conversation with externalizing circular questions, which allow to make visible the relationship each family member had with the loved dead persona, recuperating lived experiences, the knowledges and skills that the lost person gave each family member, so that the love and support that have been part of the family can be recuperated. Hedtke Lorraine (2001) proposes "the objective is to keep alive the relationship beyond dead" (p. 4). Also, to be able to understand positive effect that the process of the trea of life has for the family by reestablishing the relationship with the absent person, requires the use of some central categories of narrative therapy, including the conversations of Re-asociation, including White (1994) proposal for responding to grief "saying hello again" (p. 130).
