- Abstract
This document is a collection of letters to the editor from the journal Salud Pública de México. The first letter discusses a study conducted in Xochistlahuaca, Guerrero, Mexico, which aimed to explore the knowledge, attitudes, and intentions of healthcare professionals regarding traditional midwives. The study found that healthcare professionals were aware of the decline of traditional midwifery and recognized its importance in their community. They expressed both positive and negative attitudes towards traditional midwives and showed a willingness to work together with them. The second letter reports a case of autochthonous dengue virus infection in the Metropolitan Zone of Mexico Valley. The patient, a resident of the area, experienced various symptoms and was diagnosed with dengue virus serotype 2. The case highlights the need for ongoing training of healthcare professionals in the area regarding vector mosquitoes, transmission, and clinical manifestations of dengue. The third letter discusses the 20th anniversary of the approval of the first Spanish legislation guaranteeing the right to patient autonomy. The letter emphasizes the importance of this legislation in allowing patients to be more involved in their own healthcare decisions.
