Examines the role of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2) in the development of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) in pigs in South Africa. Initial manifestation of the disease as porcine dermatitis and nephropathy syndrome; Analysis of the histology and immunohistochemistry of lymph nodes from pigs affected with PMWS; Genetic similarity between PCV-2 isolated from the first reported case of PMWS in South Africa and North American isolates.
