- Authors
Bolens, Guillemette
- Abstract
This article discusses the literary works "Mactatio Abel" which is a play on the biblical theme of Abel's murder by his brother Cain, and "The Book of the Duchess," which discusses the character of Morpheus. The common theme between the two works which is discussed is that of the human body from a physiological perspective. It specifically looks at the concept of dead people and their corpses, and in that way focuses on the philosophy of the physical human body itself rather than metaphorical or allegorical allusions.
