- Abstract
The article discusses the author's views about the need to reform the state's appraisal statute as of 2017, and it mentions Delaware's Court of Chancery, an effort to curb appraisal arbitrage, and the valuation methods used by the courts in Delaware. Appraisal rights under section 262 of the Delaware General Corporation Law are examined. It states that appraisal arbitrageurs are hedge funds that try to exploit an appraisal remedy by buying target company stock after a merger announcement.
