- Abstract
An essay is presented on the environmental and economic benefits related to the renewable portfolio standard (RPS) mandates in the U.S. It looks into the RPS legislation in Ohio and other states that provides renewable power to consumers nationwide. It discusses the advantages of a well-structured federal RPS initiatives and how such legislations could bring together state laws to result in greater renewable energy generation in the nation.
