- Abstract
The article focuses on Extending the Break, an architecture-related thesis project which applied the concept of remix détournement as an architectural process. It describes the concept of remixing in the field of music and relates it to the field of construction and architecture. The project adopts the tactical analogy used by disc jockeys (DJ) to construct infrastructures in Las Vegas, Nevada and Gary, Indiana. The author notes that the natural forces in each city influenced the mixing, scratch and remixing processes in architectural designing.
