- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a management technique for tracheal dilation, a complication of cuffed endotracheal intubation. It discusses the prevention and recognition of tracheal dilatation after prolonged intubation. Topics include a case study of a woman suffering from acute hypoxemia, treatment with prolonged mechanical ventilation, and the T-tube prosthesis placed in the tracheotomy which preserved ventilation without placing pressure on the damaged tissues.
