The article discusses the role of International Health Regulations (IHR) to public health in the U. S. IHR aims to provide surveillance, transparency and response to a public health emergency of international concern. This was revised by the World Trade Organization (WHO) to gain the confidence and trust of the people concerning public health. IHR allows confidential reporting to the WHO to investigate matters for the benefit of the public health.
