The article provides insights into tumor recognition by Vy2Vd2 T cells derived from an AIDS-related lymphoma. A rapid and targeted depletion of circulating antitumor T cells were documented, with concomitant increases in the incidence of B cell lymphoma. Several AIDS-derived tumor lines were screened in vitro for the capacity to stimulate T cells.
